ROPE ACCESS

IRATA’s rope access system is a safe method of working at height which uses ropes and associated equipment to gain access to and from the worker position. Rope access is pervasive and can be witnessed in use across both the built and natural environment.

At this time, DBC Group, as an IRATA certified rope access operator and trainer member company, is one of a handful of companies fully accredited to IRATA’s rigorous international code of practice. Other organisations who are not accredited as IRATA member companies do not undergo the same strict monitoring and audits that ensure DBC’s consistent compliance with IRATA’s safe method of working at height. Clients are able to place significant confidence in DBC Group knowing that our systems and standards are aligned with the best international practices provided by IRATA.

Our capabilities are suitable for any industrial site and DBC group provides the distinct advantage of being able to safely and quickly position technicians in places difficult to otherwise reach in order to carry out work. It is important to understand that rope access should only ever be carried out by professionally trained and supervised technicians such as those provided by DBC.

DBC rope access operations can only be carried out in a reliable safe manner where technicians are competent, suitably trained, properly equipped, and subject to appropriate levels of supervision.

All DBC rope access personnel must be IRATA qualified with in-date certification and in possession of an up to date IRATA logbook. All equipment used by our technicians is subject to regular thorough inspection and monitored on our equipment registers. Furthermore, all rope access operations are subject to a Safe Work Method Statement designed for the specific work being undertaken and addressing all the specific risks inherent to the works scope. A secondary advantage is that rope access involves drastically less man-risk hours. Essentially, due to how much more quickly the work can be conducted, there is less time required, so the total hours and associated risk for these workers is considerably less when contrasted with other, more traditional, access approaches.

As an IRATA member company we are a resource for information about IRATA and rope access. Whether you are a technician, safety professional, or a client representative we are always happy to provide further information.

HUSIK HYBRID
ACCESS

As industry is simply a never ending quest to deliver the best result in an easier fashion, we present Husik as our access system integrating rope access, rigging, and engineered scaffolding. This hybrid system may seem new to you, but DBC has been using this integrated access system since 2012. Husik’s application for access is limitless.

Lessons learned have demonstrated that a synergistic approach with two or more types of access in play is often the best access solution. Husik is a natural progression born from DBC’s creative spirit combined with our commitment to provide the safest, most efficient, and cost effective access methods.

DBC is able to deliver the Husik system designed to establish fixed and moving work platforms, swing stages, and walkways for work at height or confined space using the agility of rope access for installation and dismantling.

Husik, by incorporating engineered scaffold, advanced rigging, and rope access, can deliver significant advantages for many work scopes. Offering the familiar quick set up and dismantle timing associated with rope access, Husik provides stable work platforms in locations that would otherwise be closed out above and below for extended periods.

Particular circumstances in which our Husik access system is most effective are for silos, shafts, storage tanks/material additive bins, chimney, exhaust stacks, and pressure vessels. Combining rope access, scaffolding, and rigging in these situations for shutdown maintenance, installations or decommissioning can seriously reduce man risk hours and also plant down days. Husik is clever and cost effective.
